Doctor Tweak - AI Will More Often Hire Court Physicians

The AI will more often take the Hire Court Physician decision and hire court physicians. Doctorless no more every AI court will survive, thrive, and be maimed in surgery, by court physicians in a world of plague, injury, and disease.

The player will also receive a new alert if their court physician position is vacant or incapacitated. Never be caught doctorless again when the man comes around.

The Problem in Vanilla

Prior to Royal Court v1.5 the AI was not allowed to take the Hire Court Physician decision which this mod originally fixed. With Royal Court the AI will now take the hire court physician decision but will only check it once every five years and can not take it if they are in any war, risking too many AI courts never hiring a physician in the five year gaps or because there is a chain of peasant revolts, and falling victim to disease and injury.

The tweak is to have the AI check the decision every six months, and allow them to take the decision even if the are at war with endless peasant revolts or multi-decade crusade.

But how can the poverty AI afford a doctor?

Now they can't. Royal Court has imposed a minimum of 30 gold to take the decision, which this mod now reflects.

Player Alert Added

The mod also makes the Hire Court Physician decision a major decision which means the player will receive an alert if the court physician position is vacant and they can hire a new doctor. The cooldown on the decision is reduced to 90 days but will only be available if the position is vacant or the existing court physician is incapable.

Acknowledgment and Thanks

This mod builds on the work of AlcoholV's AI Hire Physician mod, removing some of the barriers that the AI got caught on and increasing the frequency of the AI checking the decision. Thanks also to G.Strategos for alerting me to the problem.
