The Wheel of Time

A Total Conversion Mod for Victoria 3

ALPHA version 0.1

Following development of Victoria 3, it occurred to me that the setting of the Wheel of Time series could fit in with the theme of the game. Towards the end of the series we see the sowing of the seeds of an industrial revolution in the setting, and have glimpses of it in passages referring to future events. So a mod starting after the events of the Last Battle seem to me to fit in with Victoria 3 quite well.

In such a setting there is plenty of "colonisable" land in between the existing nations, nations who will be able to expand now the world is stable. The start date avoids having to consider darkfriends, shadowspawn and the general influence of the chosen/dark one, who are already defeated. But of course this could all be considered in earlier start dates in future versions of such a mod.

Features

- A bookmark starting just after the Last battle, the start of the fourth age

- Current playable nations are in The Westlands and Aiel Waste. Seanchan and Shara are currently represented as unplayable distant realms.

- A Dragon's Peace mechanic that acts as a sort of proto-UN.

- New pop types, including channelers. New powerful production methods associated with the one power

- Adaption of the vanilla tech tree, politics and laws system to suit the setting. New ideologies and interest groups.

- New diplomatic actions, including Royal marriages, "Order tributaries" and unifications

Future Plans

This is very much an ALPHA version of the mod, and there are many things that can be added, improved and iterated on. Some future plans:

- Much more flavour, including journals and events

- Extend the map to Seanchan, Shara etc

- Extend the technology tree into the future- potentially up to Age of Legends

- An earlier bookmark covering the events of the book series

- Improve and finish the map

- Custom 3D portrait graphics

- Develop 2D graphics, including events pictures and icons
