Are you tired of Victoria 3's economy feeling like a pilgrim blazing a trail on a drunk pony? Well, fear not, because the Sober Pony ARoAI: Tiers of Industry mod is here to save the day!
Thanks to the original work of Anbleed and my discussions with SupaJohnson and D34DLY on the Steam community forums, this mod ties building tiers to technology unlocks, ensuring that the AI will build towards gaps in throughput cap increases.
No more drunken stumbling towards urban building progression, as this mod reduces the overall spread of urban buildings in the late game, contributing to smoother tick calculations.
So, let the sober ponies dance! Give a big thanks to Anbleed for their original mod and to SupaJohnson and for their contributions to the community discussions that helped make this mod possible. Get ready for a more streamlined and efficient economy in Victoria 3!
v3 - Released 2023-04-12
Update v0.1.1: Identified additonal locations to incorporate higher economy of scale bonuses as modifiers for unlocking production technologies. Most of these changes are in Era 4. Adjusted amounts given earlier in the tech tree. Changed Tier one to start with manufacturies. Increased tier values to account for higher total throughput. Changed AI weight table values for technologies so they will pick the ones with economy of scale bonuses that increase the tier level more frequently. Reduced the penalty for the AI to take a tech ahead of time. Increased the AI's budget for innovation. Todo: Look at Society and Mil trees for production bonus tie ins if possible. Fine tune the weight table further. Look at art academies (possibly implement forgeries and criminal pops if PDX fixes negative throughput in another mod). Give art academies an economic ownership production method selection as almost every other build has in the game. That's a lot of dividends to be missing out on.
