We chose to release Victoria 3’s expansion Mod “The World Spirit” (TWS) on March 4 because on this day 210 years ago, the leading Russian troops entered Berlin, which had been abandoned by the French army, and liberated the Kingdom of Prussia. The capital started the German War of Liberation in 1813. In the real timeline, this war eventually led to the Grand Army being destroyed again in Leipzig. Napoleon had to organize a hopeless defense of the French mainland and was ultimately defeated twice and abdicated.

In 1812, Napoleon flew across the Berezina River after his failed expedition against the Russian Empire, allowing him to return to Germany with a stronger Grand Army the following year and turning the German Liberation War into a battle for the fall of the German nation. Under the Erfurt System, the Kingdom of Prussia was completely dismembered, the Austrian Empire was ordered to withdraw from Central European affairs, the Russian Empire was driven to the edge of Europe, and the United Kingdom was defeated from within in the long confrontation with France. The old order constructed by Napoleon was undoubtedly a reaction to the French Revolution. Although Napoleon and the Roman kings claimed to be the heirs of the Revolution, the Revolution was actually interrupted by the Empire and became increasingly regressive in the later years of Napoleon's rule. But this cannot stop the historical development direction of Europe and the world. Although Napoleon single-handedly killed more than 20 years of revolution in Europe, he also single-handedly created the powder keg for the rise of all nations. Thanks to it, various ruled nations such as Germany, Italy, and Poland have a foundation that is more conducive to revolution and national unification.

The kings and princes of Europe convulsed in the shadow of the Erfurt system, but the specter of continued revolution would never leave them alone. Napoleon combined various feudal territories into one and gave them to his sisters and brothers. The princes of the Bonaparte family, who exercised progress in the name of conquerors in backward lands, would also be kicked away when progress came. The Confederation of the Rhine, the Kingdom of Italy, and other places ruled by France would reform themselves to avoid revolution, but this often did not go their way and did not suit the conquerors.
