The Russian Civil War concluded only two/three years prior, and a newborn Union of Free Republics stands in the old Tsardom's place. The Presidium redrew the Coat-of-Arms for the Union, and the flag was a rectified scarlet with a rounded hammer-and-sickle, and a gold-red star, symbolizing the emancipation of the working class: the hammer the industrial workers, and the sickle the peasants. But oh no! A fourteen year-old on Wikipedia accidentally misnomered the flag as saying it was adopted December of 1936, even when pictures exist of it prior! ... Okay I'm gonna be real, I don't care enough to finish what I was writing. The rounded hammer-and-sickle went into use around 1924 and became popularized posthumously as the flag of the U.S.S.R. during World War II (see "Raising the Flag on the Reichstag"). In-game, Paradox for some reason opted to use the 1955 standardization of the iconography instead of the proper Stalinist/20s design, so this mod rectifies that - apparently in vanilla, the only nation to use the Stalinist icons is communist Spain, which is a very interesting design choice. The fix was extraordinarily simple, and as far as I know *affects checksum* but is still achievement compatible. MP compatibility will need to be tested.
