Tired of repeatedly going to war with a country every five years because they keep backing down? This mod adds the option to reject a nation backing down from a diplomatic play. Think of it as the diplomatic play escalating to the point of unavoidable war.
Some technical details:
This is done by firing an event after someone backs out of a diplomatic play that allows you to either accept or reject the backing down (if applicable--i.e., they exist and aren't your subject). If you reject it, a new "containment" diplomatic play is created at the cost of 10 infamy in which either side can add war goals, and the backed down land (provinces or subjects) is returned to the target country. As this play is technically a containment play, an increased DIPLO_PLAY_BOLDNESS_CONTAINMENT_PLAY define prevents any party from backing out of this new play, forcing the play to escalate to war. However, the containment war goal is removed before the war starts, making this essentially a normal war. If you accept it, you'll just keep the primary war goal like normal and nothing else happens.
Some side effects:
The AI no longer backs down in containment diplomatic plays. As these new diplomatic plays are technically "containment", other countries will be more willing to join either side in these due to another default define. Also, the AI will mobilize more in these wars.
Isues:
The backed down provinces have high turmoil upon being returned. In very, very rare occasions, countries may back down from the containment war.
Misc:
Only the player can reject backing down as of now. As for compatibility, this mod should work with most other mods as long as it's loaded last.
