Indica Universalis: Kingdoms of Malabar adds 5 Mission Trees, 120+ Missions, National Ideas, Unique Mechanics, Events, and much more for the four kingdoms on the Malabar coast.
Venad: The biggest amongst the four Malayali nations, Venad is the principal land power of the region. The ancient and glorious Padmanabhaswamy Temple serves as a reminder that the Gods themselves have ordained Venad’s supremacy. Renovating the temple is sure to preserve Venad’s glory for centuries. Developing the Kollam Port, and expansion into Tamil territory will ensure that Calicut does not even dare to compete for supremacy of the region.
Kochin: Humiliated and driven south from their old capital by the Zamorin of Calicut, Kochin still has great economic potential if they can develop their natural harbour. The Syrian Christians and the Malabar Jews have called Kochin home since the First Century AD. This cosmopolitan existence is certain to draw the attention of European travellers. Time will tell whether this will be a boon or a bane.
Calicut: As the principal trading and naval power of the region, the Zamorin of Calicut wields considerable influence across Malayali lands and competes with Venad for supremacy along the Malabar coast. Historic connections with Middle Eastern powers will serve well to keep the Europeans away, although one wonders if this will come at great cost.
Kolathunad: The decentralized realm of Koluthunad is the smallest amongst the four Malayali nations. The mountainous terrain, while preventing central rule, also serves to keep potential invaders away. Perhaps, a way can be found to turn the curse of rampant piracy into a blessing, bleeding rivals and accumluating a grand fortune.
