DESCRIPTION

Similar to a Great Holy War, this mod adds a Great Empire War mechanic that brings the entire realms of two empires into total war against each other.

Great Empire Wars are massive and impactful conflicts that involve every single vassal in their respective realms, and often feature military strength numbering in the hundreds of thousands. There can be no white peace, and the war will rage on until one empire is finally destroyed.

In a Great Empire War, every single vassal of each realm is called to war as an ally, including vassals of vassals. The scale of the war is massive and the cost will be great. Two mighty empires will wage total war against each other until one is finally destroyed.

The defeated empire is shattered into hundreds of independent states, each reduced to tribal governments that will continuously raid, pillage, and wage war against each other. The ensuing chaos may also give rise to heresy outbreaks in the defeated empire's faith. A shattered empire will remain in a state of total anarchy for many years.

The victorious emperor will gain a powerful Victor of a Great Empire War fame trait, 2000 dynasty renown, and distribute 4000 prestige amongst their vassals, in addition to shattering and tribalizing an entire region of the world.

Great Empire Wars are very rare but can represent major times of turmoil that can completely devastate an entire region of the world, shatter and tribalize an empire, lead to hundreds of thousands of casualties, and create decades of exhausting and costly conflict.

To declare a Great Empire War against another empire, a character must have an empire title, the Exalted among Men level of fame, 2500 prestige, and can only attempt it once per lifetime. The casus belli should appear against other empires.

There is also a game rule to enable Great Empire Wars for kingdoms. It is disabled by default, but enabling it will allow kingdoms to wage Great Empire Wars on other kingdoms and empires as long as they meet the level of fame and prestige requirements.

Customization

This mod adds several game rules to allow you to customize your Great Empire Wars.

Great Empire Wars - Declaration

Empires Only:

Only Empires can declare Great Empire Wars against other Empires.

Empires and Kingdoms:

Both Kingdoms and Empires can declare Great Empire Wars. Kingdoms can declare them on other Kingdoms and Empires, and vice-versa.

Great Empire Wars - Call to Arms

All Vassals:

All vassals, including vassals of vassals, are called to war.

Direct Vassals Only:

Only the war leaders' direct vassals are called to war.

No Vassals:

No vassals will join the war.

Great Empire Wars - Tribalism

Shattered Tribalism:

A defeated empire is both shattered and reduced to tribalism.

Only Shattered:

A defeated empire is only shattered.

Great Empire Wars - Shattering

Full Shatter:

All titles in the realm are destroyed (Empires, Kingdoms, and Duchies).

Partial Shatter:

Most top-level titles in the realm are destroyed (Empires and Kingdoms).

Minimal Shatter:

Only the highest level title in the realm is destroyed.

Great Empire Wars - Heresy

Religious Chaos:

A heresy outbreak will appear for the defeated empire's faith, as well as a fervor decrease.

Religious Unity:

No fervor decrease or heresy outbreak will spawn for the defeated empire's faith.

Great Empire Wars - Restrictions

Full Restrictions:

The Great Empire War casus belli can only be used once per lifetime, requires the Exalted Among Men fame level, and costs 2500 prestige.

Partial Restrictions:

The Great Empire War casus belli can be used unlimited times per lifetime, requires the Exalted Among Men fame level, and costs 2000 prestige.

This mod should be compatible with anything and is save-game compatible.
