DESCRIPTION

!! IMPORTANT! READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PLAYING !! ( Also, being unlanded is not supported by the game, so don't be surprised if you experience any crashes!)

This mod will allow you to play the game as an unlanded character. Start the game as a landless homeless person, and work your way to the top

INSTRUCTIONS:

• First, pick any character (You can create your own ruler)
• After picking a ruler, right click on any landless person or your liege to abdicate your titles to them (You can also switch to any landless character you want by right clicking them, just make sure they're not lowborn)
• When you become landless, press F9 and click the button that says "Leave observer"
• You can hold F11 to tick time, or press it once to tick by only one day (This is the only way I could make time pass while landless, it might lag for the first time, but it will then continue smoothly)
• Interact with rulers by right clicking them, take decisions as you wish

FEATURES:

• Visit ANY ruler's court by right clicking them, you will then appear as a guest in their court and they might decide to recruit you if you are skilled enough or are inspired
• You can leave the court you are in by taking the "Leave court" decision (It has a cooldown)
• Interact with landed bishops (baron or above) to join their church. You will take the vows and become a priest.
• Bribe the head of faith to gurantee you any positions in the church (guaranteed to succeed your theocratic liege, and eventually become the pope)
• Interact with mercenary captains to join their mercenary band (You can find them by using the character searcher, and filtering for only unlanded by rank. I'll add a more intuitive way later)
• Interact with holy order leaders to join their ranks! Bribe the pope for a guranteed chance to become the next order captain
• Once you visit a court, you can Search for a job. Gain a small amount of gold every time you work
• Spend prestige to gain an inspiration, visit rich courts and they may hire you for gold (Requires at least 10 martial or 9 learning)
• After gathering enough gold, you can buy a house. This is the first step towards money making. Gather more gold and you can buy a farm, shop, etc
• Finally, after gathering a certain amount of gold, interact with a baron to offer to buy their holding. Your landless journey will come to an end here

TO DO

• Add more intuitive ways to join a mercenary band
• Add more decisions, interactions and jobs
• More general flavor
• Fix the character sometimes moving to another court by itself
• Add the ability to play as a Lowborn(without a dynasty) without crashing
• More compatibility with other mods

WARNING

Before exiting the game to main menu, press f9 and make sure to go back into observer mode! Otherwise the game might crash

SAVING

To save the game, press F9 and click the button in yellow that says "Save game". To continue, you must find your character again with character searcher after loading the game and picking another ruler, then use the "Switch character" interaction on them. (Saving doesn't support unlanded characters, so this is a workaround)

COMPATIBILITY

Since this mod changes a lot, It may not work with a lot of other mods. Though I recommend using the freecam for royal court mod to see yourself in your liege's court better
