DESCRIPTION

Middle East Expanded is a mod designed to enrich and enhance the Crusader Kings 3 experience in the Middle East. In my opinion, the region has been somewhat underrepresented in the game, particularly when compared to the depth and diversity of Europe. MEE aims to rectify this by introducing a wealth of new content, including a diverse array of cultures and religions, as well as an assortment of engaging decisions and events.

Note: I've only just started developing this mod, so don't expect much yet. I'm currently working on adding more cultures and religions (and tweaking parts of the vanilla game). This is all done to make things more historically accurate while adding new content.

CHANGELOG

v3 - Released 2023-05-25

I've added some new religions and changed others. I've added the different cultures and religions to the map. I tried to be as accurate as possible, and for areas where I could not find any information on what culture & religion was dominant, I just added whatever culture & religion would make for the most fun gameplay wise. In the next update I will clean up some things & fix Islam and its sects in the game.

v2 - Released 2023-05-21

- Changed some Middle Eastern culture names to their endonyms - Moved the Georgian, Armenian and Alan cultures to the new Caucasian heritage. - Moved the Assyrian culture into the new Semitic heritage, which also includes the various Arab and Jewish cultures. The Israelite language was changed to "Hebrew". - Changed the Byzantine Heritage to "Hellenic" Heritage and added Albanian so it wouldn't just be Greek in the Heritage group. - Added the Zaza ("Kirmanc"), Hewrami and Talyshi cultures to the game. They are all Iranian and speak the "Caspian" language, which is now also spoken by the Daylamites. - The Kurds (now "Kurdi") speak the Kurmanji language. - Religion is difficult to get right with the reductive religious labelling system of the base game, but I've moved Yezidism, Khurramism and many Islamic faiths into their own religion. I will be tweaking this and probably moving some faiths in and out, but I find this more historical. The Druze and Alawites, for example, are not really part of Islam.
