DESCRIPTION

This is a lightweight mod that adds an extra era: the Renaissance. I always complete all innovations a century before game end, so I felt that the game lacks an extra final era. That is what this mod does.

 

The Renaissance Era has 4 new military innovations and 8 new civic innovations. Some are more powerful than others and they are mostly geared for a final power rush in the late game. The innovations try to represent the shift towards centralized states and the weakening of power of the feudal magnates, and the increased professionalism of armies and warfare in general, during the very late middle ages. At the same time, some innovations represent cultural shifts that took place in the early renaissance.

 

Please note that this mod does NOT expand the timeframe beyond 1453. As such, the new era represents the early renaissance.

 

As of now, there are no cultural or regional innovatations, but I might add some later if I get some inspiration.

 

The mod is very basic and should be compatible with most other mods. Of course, achievements will not be unlocked when using this mod. This modification will also not work with already existing savegames.
