DESCRIPTION
This mod removes automatically created alliances after marriage or betrothal giving now only opinion bonuses between different characters. These bonuses may then help you to create an alliance further on! The mod also includes "break alliance" feature for alliances created by "proposal" (no blood ties). "Alliance by proposal"-interaction is also available right after any trait from the first row of any trait tree is selected.

This mod may add a bit more difficulty because AI usually creates 1-2 alliances pretty quickly and also because of the higher prestige cost when calling an ally to an offensive war (prestige is now more valuable asset). Also note that all premade alliances that are created via marriage relations in Vanilla version when a new game is started don't exist.

Enjoy the mod!

1.10.1 All good.

__________

25.8.2023

1.10.0.1 patch out.

- New feature added: General negative opinion (-20) is added to the player for 5 years if you decide to break an alliance.

- Some opinion bonuses fixed and tweaked. In some cases it is now easier/harder to great an alliance.

- "Is a claimant" should again give negative opinion effect instead of positive (Paradox changed how this is calculated couple of patches ago and I think it didn't work as it should).

- With other opinion bonus changes, the opinion multiplier has been changed from 0.6 back to 1.0 -> persons opinion is now what it actually is.

1.9.2.1 All good, no changes.

1.9.1 patch changes adapted to the mod. All good.

_________

20.5.2023

1.9.0.4 update is out! All 1.9 patch changes included, no major bugs found yet (please report if you find something really weird caused by this mod!).

- Grand weddings can be used to get those final acceptance points to establish the marriage you really desire and later after finished to unlock the "Alliance by negotiation"-interaction.

- Player can now break proposed alliance if they want, but this comes with a big opinion penalty. AI will still break the proposed alliances only if their opinion of the other ruler goes under -50.

- Some minor text updated/fixes

1.8.0 Update out. All good.

15.09.2022

1.7.1 Update out.

Small bonus (+15) added when proposing a marriage if there is an alliance between the actor and the recipient.

__________

28.07.2022 update: Out of beta and version 1.0 now released!

Notifications have been updated to be more clear when alliance created by proposal is broken.

Some tooltips updated/added to suit better for the mod.

Extra opinion check now also added before the Alliance by negotitation ("blood ties") interaction comes available. Currently set to -50 opinion for both characters. This was done to mainly prevent low opinion AI's spamming the player. Feedback about this change is welcome.

One month cooldown added for both alliance interactions.

Opinion penalty from "Excommunicated" increased -20 to -50. This should push the opinions a bit more down making excommunication more "harmful".

"They have too many alliances" -penalty now comes active only after two active alliances instead of one. I found a bug where spouses being both rulers gave this penalty as double even they had only alliance between each other and couldn't solve it. With this change it is now also easier to establish two alliances, but having three should be still more challenging. Feedback about this change is welcome. If you think it now get way too easy to establish alliances, some penalties can be changed in future updates.

__________

First release:

Alliance by negotiation ("blood ties") is available after marriage but not after betrothal. You can also now choose if you want use "alliance by proposal" interaction even when alliance by negotiation ("blood ties") is also available. This choice can affect how the alliance is broken later on.

Breaking betrothal will now cause severe opinion penalties between different characters.

Alliance by proposal is now available right after any trait from the first row of any trait tree is selected. You will see AI creating alliances pretty quickly when the game starts. There is an extra opinion check included before the interaction comes available and moves to the final proposal check. Currently character's opinion of "you" needs to be higher than -25, and "your" opinion of the character "you" would like to propose an alliance needs to higher than -50. This restriction was done to prevent very low opinion AI's forming alliances together, and to prevent low opinion AI's from spamming proposals to the player (if you hate them, don't form alliance with them).

Alliance by proposal can/will now be broken if the opinion number between the characters goes too low (currently set to -50). AI will also use this feature, so keep an eye on those opinion numbers. Alliances created by negotitation ("blood ties") should not be affected by this feature and should be broken/removed only based on the default game rules.

There are numerous changes to the opinion modifiers made for both alliance interactions, so you might find a bit more difficult to create an alliance in overall.

Calling an ally to a war will cost you more prestige.

Opinion penalties increased when declaring a war.

__________

Current issues:

Sorting spouses based on "Alliance power" won't work. This is something that I'm not be able to solve at all, so you just have to ignore it while playing.

Mod called "In My Humble Opinion" (or similar) is highly recommended to have better understanding about opinion numbers between the characters.

This mod may add a bit more difficulty because AI usually creates 1-2 alliances pretty quickly and also because of the higher prestige cost when calling an ally to an offensive war (prestige is now more valuable asset).
