As a Vampire you're immortal...sort of. While you won't be killed by old age, disease or being decapitated or put on a fire pit will end your life. You are less concerned about succession, yet it is still a concern. Marriages are also a tool for politics, but they can only produce one child. Even more so than in CK3, religions play a major role in the game. It represents your character's core philosophy, and helps him to not be tempted by the beast. The Beast, which is a manifestation of the inner monster, is one of you worst enemies. Managing your stress will help to prevent your character from falling to this beast. It would be a shame if your character became a feral, blood-lusting wight. The hunger is a core modifier that represents your need for blood. It can be used in many ways and with various powers.
The "War of Princes", or the conflict that raged in Cainite History from 1230 to 1204 AD, began soon after the Fall of Constantinople. This term is used to describe the territorial conflicts that were fought by the princes in Europe after the Long Night. It was not long before the Inquisition that The War of Princes started. The Inquisitors, initially used by the Elders as a tool, soon became more dangerous to the Cainites. It is unclear when exactly the War of Princes came to an end, but it was likely forced into a conclusion by the Anarch Revolt if not earlier. You will be able win the War definitively before mortals begin their revolt against their masters.
It is the sequel mod for Princes of Darkness in Crusader Kings II. Both mods were developed by the same team.
The vampires have a slow learning curve. You can still access the basic lifestyles but with a slower rate of progress. Alternatively, you can choose to spend your time on disciplines that will allow you access to the power of the damned. The buildings represent your power over mortals. You will need to decide how you want to balance the stats. The biggest assets for any prince are major population centers, which represent high-development duchy capitals. The emphasis is placed on the knights in combat, which makes sense. Your knights' prowess will easily defeat a more populated foe, particularly if they are mostly made up of levies. Be very cautious of Vampires with high-level prowess. Intrigue is a major factor in a world of tricks and deceit. You'll discover new plots, including some that are linked to your abilities. Most characters also have secrets they would rather keep hidden, or use for blackmail, if allowed by their religious beliefs.

It's been a while since the sacking of Constantinople, which broke the Cainite Empire, and had a major ripple effect on France and Persia. The Church Inquisition gathers support and intelligence, ready to bring the age of revenge on those bloodsuckers.
