Welcome to Dreams of a White Russian Victory! I hope you all have as much fun playing my mod as I had making it! If you're like me, you've become very bored with the stagnant Soviet Union focus tree in the base game. All of this time and you still can only go communist? Although there have already been some mods that have addressed this issue, I felt that some lacked the depth I desired. Russia, the largest country on Earth, should have the largest focus tree in HoI4! So, I created one with a focus tree larger than any in vanilla, including the gigantic Spanish one. Additionally, I will be releasing focus trees for Finland, Belarus, Ukraine, Mongolia, and Poland. I'm personally a big fan of roleplaying games, and I decided to add in an experiment to the mod as well. One of the paths for Russia features some lite rpg mechanics, such as attributes and skills for the country leader, which you can upgrade in the decisions tabs. Don't like the sound of that? That's okay! These mechanics are only found in Anastasia's path, the other 9 are your standard HoI4 affair. If people really like it, I will expand further upon this experiment. [h1][u]Focus Trees[/u][/h1] [b]•Russia[/b] (Completed) [b]•Finland[/b] (Completed) [b]•Ukraine[/b] (Completed) [b]•Belarus[/b] (Planning Stage) [b]•Mongolia[/b] (Planning Stage) [h1][u]Lore[/u][/h1] [h2]Russia[/h2] In this alternative history scenario, General Pyotr Wrangel took charge of the White Russian Army during the Russian Civil War far sooner than he did historically, leading them to victory over the Bolshevik Red Army. Since then, he has ruled as the Supreme Leader of Russia at the head of a military junta. To preserve the hard fought peace, he did not attempt to conquer Ukraine, Finland, or any of the other breakaway states. Instead, he formed the faction known as The Pact of Petrograd, whose members include Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Mongolia, and Tannu Tuva. This eastern bloc is similar to the modern day EU or NATO, where each member state pledges to defend one another and allow close economic cooperation. However, even with the communists defeated, things are not well in this new Russia. A Bolshevik insurgency has hampered the junta the entire time, leading to economic stagnation, and nobles and generals rule over their own petty fiefdoms at the expense of the common man. It is becoming clearer every day that significant change must come to Russia, lest it collapse into another civil war. Additionally, in this alternate universe, Anastasia Romanova, the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II, manages to survive the execution of her family. She has been living in hiding ever since, fearful of being caught by the Bolsheviks who want her dead. The path to find her is only somewhat hidden, but if you do find her, you are able to seat her as a constitutional monarch on the throne of the Russian Empire! [h2]Ukraine[/h2] As the Red Army collapsed in the Russian Civil War, the White Army approached the combined Polish and Ukrainian forces (Peoples' Republic of Ukraine). The Poles, happy to keep the land they'd already taken, betrayed the Ukrainians and made peace with the White Army. All alone, the Peoples' Republic quickly fell and was promptly replaced with the Ukrainian Hetmanate, led by Pavlo Skoropadskyi. He now rules Ukraine at the pleasure of the Russians, the Cossack minority growing to be more and more hated by their fellow Ukrainians. The year is now 1936 and the Hetman is barely holding onto power. Communists, nationalists, and Republicans alike undermine the Hetmanate at every turn, and even the military is beginning to lose faith in the Hetman. Everything is beginning to come to a head, the question is when the dust settle, will the Hetman still have his own? Some of the options available to Ukraine are: 1) Keep and reform the Hetmanate, 2) establish a Monarchy with Danylo Skoropadskyi as its King, 3) restore the Directorate under Oleksandr Hrekov, 4) bring back the Peoples' Republic under Symon Petliura or Kost Levytsky, 5) form a fascist nationalist government under Yevhen Konovalets or hold an internal coup against him with Stepan Bandera, 6) have the communists take power under either Andriy Richytsky or Grigory Petrovsky, and 7) let Ukraine fall further into anarchy and see Nestor Makhno make his grand return to Ukraine. **Please note that this lore is not all of it in its entirety. Sorry :( [h1][u]Helpful Tips[/u][/h1] -The country tag for Russia is RUS. -Make sure to carefully read all blue text found under national focuses, decisions, etc. Keep an eye out for unlocked decisions that will help you out! -If you find the scenario too easy or too hard, remember that Paradox was kind enough to give us difficulty settings. You can't get achievements with this mod on anyways, so you might as well turn up or turn down the difficulty to suit your preference.
